Boiler Repair Birmingham FAQs
- How quickly can you get to a boiler breakdown in Birmingham?
- For a full breakdown with no heating or hot water we aim to get to you the same day wherever we can, and we cover emergencies 24/7. For non-urgent faults it is usually next day. We will always tell you a realistic time rather than a vague window.
- Do you charge to diagnose the fault?
- We tell you the cost before we come out and we agree the price of any repair with you before we carry it out. You will never get a bill with something on it you did not approve first.
- Do you work weekends and evenings?
- Yes. We run 24/7 emergency callouts across Birmingham and surrounding areas, including weekends and bank holidays. Plenty of our work comes from people who could not get anyone else to answer the phone.
- Can you repair my make of boiler?
- We work on all the major domestic brands including Worcester Bosch, Vaillant, Ideal, Baxi, Glow-worm, Potterton, Main, Vokera and Alpha. If a part is obsolete we will tell you straight away instead of ordering something that will never arrive.
- Is it worth repairing my boiler or should I replace it?
- As a rough guide, if the boiler is under about eight years old and the part is available, repairing is usually the sensible choice. Older boilers with repeated faults or obsolete parts often cost more to keep going than to replace. We give you the honest answer, including when the repair is the cheaper option for you.
- Why does my boiler keep losing pressure?
- Usually a small leak on pipework, radiators or valves, a failed expansion vessel, or a weeping pressure relief valve. Topping up once or twice a year is normal. Needing to re-pressurise every few weeks means there is a fault worth tracing before it gets worse.
- What if the boiler cannot be repaired?
- We will tell you clearly why, and what your options are. If replacing is the right call we can quote you for a new boiler and in many cases fit it within a day or two, so you are not left without heating.
"Boiler kept locking out with an F1 fault. Matt topped it up, then found the real cause was a leaking valve rather than just refilling it and leaving. Fixed same visit."
